I just love it when a well laid plan comes together! Let me explain….last year, one of our staffing clients called our office to say that they would need additional temporary staffing to complete a short term project. The catch was that they were actually competing with a sister plant to keep the work on an ongoing basis. If the project went well, our client company would receive additional work, if not, it would be awarded to the other plant.

Interviews can be tough! Plus, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. So, once you have been lucky enought to land an interview at an employer that interests you, it is well worth a little extra effort. Networking can be a powerful tool to help anyone find a job. Recently, this was demonstrated beautifully on TLC's "The Job Fairy". In the last episode, a woman had been out of work for almost two years. Her benefits were almost up and she needed to find work quickly. Among other tasks, "The Job Fairy" had her throw a party and invited lots of people from a variety of backgrounds. While at the party, the woman tried to meet as many people as possible, asked about job leads and collected business cards. The net result was two bona fide leads; one of which resulted in a new job!
